Alexander Roy is originally from Chicago, Illinois, where he began his training at the Chicago High School for the Arts under Kyle Seguin. In 2016, he joined what was then the Joffrey Academy of Dance (now the Grainger Academy of The Joffrey Ballet) as a Trainee on full scholarship, performing both ensemble and soloist roles.

He continued his training through summer intensives at Ballet Austin, Ballet Chicago, and The Royal Ballet School in London, England. Alexander began his professional career in 2018 with Atlanta Ballet II and joined Colorado Ballet as an Apprentice the following year. He was promoted to the Corps de Ballet in 2020 and performed soloist roles, including Red Man in Lila York’s Celts and the Nutcracker Prince.

A two-time Youth America Grand Prix finalist, Alexander has also choreographed two original ballets. He has been teaching classical ballet since 2019 and is passionate about helping young dancers grow with confidence and clarity. A former teacher at Centerstage Starz, he is very excited to be rejoining the team.

After six seasons as a professional dancer, Alexander retired from the stage in 2024 to focus on higher education. He earned his undergraduate degree in Arts Management from the University of Massachusetts in 2025. Alexander currently serves as the Artistic Coordinator at the Colorado Symphony and is pursuing his graduate degree in Management online through the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois.
